HELP SAVE A LIFE – Red Cross Blood Drives
Thank you for helping at our Blood Drive, we are saving lives!
The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
Thank you for supporting the American Red Cross blood program!
Here is how we have done on our 7 drives- the 2nd number is the goal of units collected, set by the Red Cross:
06/18/21: 23 units with a goal of 18
10/13/21: 25 of 19
02/24/2022: 26 of 23
05/17/2022: 21 of 19
10/12/2022: 15 of 23
02/07/2023: 20 of 18
10/05/2023 21 life-saving units of blood.
03/07/2024: 21 out of 17
That is a lot of units and a lot of lives saved!

The American Red Cross is facing a national blood crisis – its worst blood shortage in over a decade, posing a concerning risk to patient care. Doctors have been forced to make difficult decisions about who receives blood transfusions and who will need to wait until more products become available. Blood and platelet donations are critically needed to help prevent further delays in vital medical treatments.
“Power Red” donations spots are also needed. From their website: “With a Power Red donation, you can give nearly twice the amount of red cells and help more patients. This type of donation uses an automated process that separates your red blood cells from the other blood components, and then safely and comfortably returns your plasma and platelets to you.” There are stricter qualifications for Power red: Male donors+ must be at least 17 years old in most states, at least 5’1″ tall and weigh at least 130 lbs. Female donors+ must be at least 19 years old, at least 5’5″ tall and weigh at least 150 lbs. Sign up at the link below.
