Itinerating missionaries Nan McCurdy and Miguel Mairena will present their work at this brown bag luncheon. This husband-wife mission team has worked for some 15 years with youth and women in San Francisco Libre, Nicaragua. Nan was involved in a pastoral ministry with people in the war zone during the civil war in Nicaragua and helped create the Foundation for Nicaraguan War Victims. Miguel has provided legal counsel to women dealing with physical, psychological, and economic violence and counseled men about reproductive responsibilities and prevention of violence against women. They now work together as Mission Advocates to assist annual conferences, districts, and local churches in the U.S. to understand and participate in global mission focusing on mission personnel and support of missionaries.
